The Farm

Beginning 1935.

All started in 1935 when Great-Grandfather Const. Tsalimakos created a fairly organized, for the time, Animal Husbandry unit in his place of origin, To Agridaki Arkadias (Outside of Vytina), focused mainly on Dairy production, with a small cheese-making activity.

The Development Principle 1978.

When the reins passed to his son Nikos (23 years later) it began its evolution on a new basis, from the primary sector (Milk production) to a modernized, by the standards of the time, Cheese making unit.

Thanks to the excellent quality milk, the secret of which is mainly due to well-being and ideal nutrition, since the breeding includes the free grazing of the animals on the green, vast slopes of the Arcadian land.

Therefore, having excellent raw material (Milk) and maintaining the traditional cheesemaking methods, the Farm produced Cheeses of unique taste and quality, with the most known of all, the famous Barrel Feta.

Development Continuity - First Expansion.

The development, the requirements and the gradual integration of other members of the Family (Son Dimitris-3rd generation) allowed-imposed the expansion of the facilities in the Neighboring Vytina with the necessary modernization, and the first Store with the Farm products was also created.

The range of products was significantly increased with additions of cheese products such as Feta derivatives, Myzithra, Anthotiro, Milk butter, milk cream, Kefalotyri, Graviera, Kefalograviera, Saganotyri, traditional yogurt, etc. with most possessing a PDO (Protected Designation of Origin) due to geographical area and at the same time due to the coverage of HACCP specifications and the application of the corresponding ISO certifications.

Modernization - Expansion of distribution network.

With the addition of new executives (4th Gen.-Const. Tsalimakos) the now empowered Farma expanded its sales network nationwide, simultaneously opening the horizon of Exports to EU countries and USA.

So after about 85 years, the Tsalimakou Family managed, by combining traditional techniques, with technologies, scientific training and new trends, to transform a small Cheese Factory into a modern Dairy production unit.

With simple, steady steps, intense industriousness, innovative and creative practices, Tsalimakos Farm has consolidated our position in Greek Dairying.

Quality Assurance - Certification.

We operate under the strictest European Union standards and according to the international certification standards for Tsalimakos Farm.

Tsalimakos Farm has been certified for the Food Safety Management system according to ISO 22000:2005 and FSSC 22000:2010 based on HACCP principles, for all production lines so as to fully ensure the hygiene, safety and quality of our products.
